It will break

“Stand up to an obstacle. Just stand up to it, that’s all and don’t give way under it, and it will finally break. You will break it. Something has to break, and it won’t be you, it will be the obstacle.” – Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking

What an amazing view! My sister’s friend said that she was looking over this area during the massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan back in 2011. People were orderly in queuing in grocery stores or when waiting for food. Students lined-up in payphones to inform their families that they are safe. They were very patient amidst the calamity. When disasters come, we easily panic for fear of the unknown (or knowing too much of the obstacles that will come before us). What Norman Vincent Peale said was meaningful, standing up to an obstacle might be a key to loosening its grip to us. It’s up to our attitude and choice in dealing with the obstacles that stand in our way.
